What they did was move a lot of old, historic houses, shops, and buildings to this one park so that everybody can come see the history of the town. There's even a cabin that you can pay $7 to experience -30 or -40 degree temperatures.
There is a whole row of shops that are open from noon-7 pm that sell locally made stuff.
There was an old train car (behind the tree) and boat that you could tour for free
Museums
2 playgrounds. One for older kids and one for younger kids
The Chena River runs right behind it. You can rent kayaks or canoes, swim, or feed the ducks :)
Ice cream:)
A train that goes around the whole park
Waiting patiently for the train
And a carousel
Madi wishing she could ride it
And Grandma let her ride :)

So this was the ONLY thing we though there really was to see in Fairbanks. I loved the park, and it was so cute and fun. So much history and things to do. But you were right, there is not much in Fairbanks :-)
