This is right before we left for Idaho. Here John is trying to wake Madi up for me so she can eat. Sometimes when she sleeps she puts her hands in the air so John had a little fun with it. He was waving her arms and singing, "Throw your hands in the air if yous a true playa." I was laughing pretty hard. And she still would not wake up.

We were planning on driving to Idaho the day after Christmas but ended up staying at my parents for a few more days because the roads were closed. While we were there we were able to see a few families from John's home town that we hadn't seen in a while. And best of all, Madi got to spend time with her grandma and grandpa. They hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving so it was nice to visit them.
Here's Madi with her Great Grandma Knight.

Grandma Burch

Grandpa Dave

We went to Reno for the University of North Carolina vs. University Nevada Reno game on New Years Eve. A few of John's uncles live in Nevada so we visited them. This is John's uncle Dan. He loved Madilyn, refered to himself as Grandpa, and asked us to come back soon...like next week. We stayed the night at their house after the game and slept half way through the next day. We were exhausted.

New Years Day: On our way home we stopped and saw John's Uncle John and Aunt Cynthia
Aunt Cynthia. They made some delicious chicken and sandwiches on homemade rye bread for lunch. It was so good. I was craving that bread for days after.

Uncle John

Back in Idaho we went and visited a couple of families that John is really close to. First we went to the Cooper's house.

We forgot to get a picture with Shannon. The other girls visited us a couple days ago at our house.

And then Jake came with us to the Lynd's house.

We had a good time these last few week but it is so nice to be home and back on schedule. It's a good thing Madi is a good traveler.
