What is it already?!!

So I know I said we would find out if our baby is a boy or girl today, because that's what they told me but we got there and were told that we won't find out until our visit on July 1st. John and I were pretty bummed! We looked so forward to it all week and now we have to wait another week and a half. Oh well. I posted a poll on our blog so you can tell us whether you think it is a boy or a girl. Let me know who voted for what...I just want to know what everyone thinks.

Florida Beaches!!!

The east coast beaches are about 20 minutes from our apartments so we've been there a few times. We went this morning and had a really good time. It is always a blast but I can only stand the sun for so long! John tans right up and I get fried! It is blazing hot here! The boys in our office all had a good time playing football on the beach and the girls just played with the kids. John got a pretty bad scrape that goes the whole length of his back and the side of his leg because he threw a long pass across his body and fell where the sand was wet. Ouch! It looks like it hurts pretty bad but it's a good thing he is tough! He didn't get in the salt water anymore because it would've stung. So we went back to our apartments and swam for a little while to get all the sand off. Here are some pictures... If you look really close you can see my pooch. My stomach has gotten so much bigger in the last couple of days

A Scary Story...

So the other day at our apartment complex something scary happened! There is a married couple in our office with a 2 year old and a 4 month old. They went to the pool one morning and two black guys followed them in. The dad and the two year old got in the pool and when the mom started feeding the baby his bottle they came and grabbed her purse, which was sitting right next to her on the chair. Her husband had a hurt ankle so he couldn't run after them so she called Camron and John. They jumped in the car and tried to catch them but they got away. All they had time to take was her cell phone and then they dropped the rest. So we have had a lot of police cars circling our complex because I think they have had a problem with random people coming to our apartments that don't live here. I knew we didn't live in the best neighborhood but I wouldn't expect to have anything stolen from me in day light and my husband right in the pool. That really scared me and it didn't even happen to me. My doors are always locked, I never take anything but my towel to the pool, and we are working on getting me some mace! I am always watching my back! I worry about John the most because of the neighborhoods he sells in. He has gotten a few threats. So we just pray for his safety everyday!! Heavenly Father has really blessed us!

My Trip to Fort Myers, FL

So my trip to Ft. Myers was pretty interesting. John and I are living in Jacksonville, FL for the summer so we live about 5 or 6 hours from my brother Greg and his family. I really wanted to go visit them because they just had a new baby, I haven't seen them in over a year, and my Mom was there visiting too. Well the plain tickets from Jacksonville to Ft. Myers were over $600!!! So, I took a train! Fun right?! It wasn't bad at all but anyway, it's all about the experience! I had a great time while I was there but I was ready to get back to my husband after a whole week. Here are some pictures of everybody, except Ty. She asked me not to take any of her :)
Here's Kayli, Me, Baby Kara, and Jenna

Greg took Mom and I out to Captiva Island at sunset. It was very pretty! Then we all three went to a restaurant called The Bubble Room for desert. It was delicious!

Kayli and Jenna love their new baby sister. Jenna will correct you if you call her Kara because her name is Kara Beth Flinders!
Here we are at the Captiva Beach! Greg and I fished while the girls played in the water. We didn't catch much except some lady fish and a little red fish. It was a really fun day, and yes I got fried. I put tons of sunscreen on but I swear with the sun here in Florida it doesn't even matter!

Our Little Peanut!!

Yep! We are having a baby! Isn't it adorable?! John wants a boy first and says he will refer to our baby as "he" until we know otherwise. Of course he will be happy with either a boy or a girl though. I am almost 16 weeks and we will find out if it is a boy or a girl on the 20th! We cannot wait! At our 14 week visit the doctor thought he saw something between the legs the first time around and then didn't see anything the next time. He said it was just too early to tell. We will see!

PLACES WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER!!!

We've been so lucky and blessed to be able to travel while we are young and childless!! Here are most of the places we've been!!

Chicago, July 2006: This was our all time favorite city to visit!! John and I were dating and he flew me out to see him over the 4th of July. We went down town and walked Michigan Street about three times, went to the Taste of Chicago, saw the bean in Millennium Park, went to Navy Pier, and of course, visited the Jordan statue! We did all we could in 2 and a half days and it was one of the funnest vacations ever!!

Navoo, July 2006: While I was visiting John in Chicago, we drove to Navoo for the day with Ammon and Cassidy. It was an amazing experience. It was Sunday so the only thing open was Carthage Jail and the Visitors Center but it was worth the drive. We are definitely going to have to go back there one day!

Bear Lake, October 2006:
We went to Bear Lake after we got married. It is so pretty there in the fall! We stayed at Uncle Dean's cabin and it was perfect! We stayed for a couple days over Labor Day Weekend but we had to get back for school, once again. Man we are good students!

Fort Myers, FL March 2007: We were able to go visit Greg and his family last spring! It was so nice to see his cute little house and where he lives. Greg took us fishing while we were there and John and I have been fishers ever since. We loved it! John caught a nice trout but it was about a 1/4th inch too short to keep. The fish I caught was a jack fish and it was snorting like a pig. I really almost dropped it because it scared me so bad. Greg said the look on my face was priceless. We were also able to go to Diney World and the Orlando Temple. We tried to sqeeze as much in one week as we could before we went back to school. Spring Break is a much needed break!

St. Louis, MO Aug-Sept 2007: Last summer we moved from Omaha, NE to St. Louis, MO so that John could finish the summer selling in the extension office. The last couple days we were there we went all over town and even went to a St. Louis Cardinals game! It was pouring rain! St. Louis wasn't our favorite city but we sure had fun there!

City of Rocks!!, Sept 2007 We packed a lunch and headed up to City of Rocks. We had Tiffany
with us and we climbed on the rocks for hours. It was an awesome trip!

LAKE POWELL, Sept 2007: We went to Lake Powell with John's work and had a blast. They had two house boats and four wave runners to play with so we kept busy all week. The best part about it, it was free!! Well John wouldn't say so; he had to work really hard for it.

Grand Canyon, April 2008: John and I went to Phoenix for a couple of weeks so he could sell and so we stopped by the Grand Canyon on the way home.

Mexico Riviera Cruise, Nov 2007

Our cruise was awesome!!! We went to Puerto Vierta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. We went snorkeling in Puerto Vierta and at Lovers Beach in Cabo. In Mazatlan I went parasailing while John played football on the beach. John would have hated parasailing because he's afraid of heights but I loved it!!

OUR WEDDING DAY!

Just a little update...John and I were married on October 6, 2006. We have been married a year and 8 months now!! It's crazy how time flies! We met in Twin Falls, Idaho at the College of Southern Idaho. I was in the nursing program and John was working on his associates degree. John had been home from his mission 6 or 7 months when we started dating. We met in February and John left in May to go sell Dish Network in Chicago for the Summer. So I basically planned the wedding while he was gone and we were married in October! Things are going really well for us!
